Analysis of Druids of Orboros
Druids in a Nutshell
A unit of toolbox utility skirmishers and spellcasters. They knock models down, move them around, and can block line of sight.
Combos & Synergies
- The Woldwrath increases their magic ability.
- The Celestial Fulcrum increases their ability to hit.
Drawbacks and Downsides
- Expensive per model
- Not a lot of killing power
- Vulnerable to blasts
- Hard to now get in front of the rest of the army to cloud wall
Tricks and Tactics
- Knock shield wall models out of formation.
- Push people around to set up charge lanes.
Other
Changes from Mk2
Their main use in Mk2 was to create an anti-magic bubble. That's been removed (with Sacred Ward being the last vestiges of it), and they can't heal beasts any more. Their movement tricks have been weakened in favor of more knockdown, and they are now less accurate. They can no longer pull units towards them but only push them away. The Overseer lost his AoE spell for Sacred Ward, lost Advance Deployment for Apparition, and lost his slightly weird Beast Master. But they now only cost as much as a normal elite unit.
