Summary

Vinter Raelthorne was ruler of Cygnar between ??? AR to 594 AR. His rule ended when he was overthrown by his brother Leto Raelthorne.

Vinter was a little bit insane, and the effects of both his reign and his brother's coup created divisions among the Cygnaran people. After he was overthrown he fled to the territory of the Skorne, where he overthrew their leader and created the Skorne empire. He had multiple invasion attempts to regain control of Cygnar before he was ultimately defeated in a duel with Asheth Magnus. Magnus later managed to place Vinter's son, Julius Raelthorne, on the throne in ??? AR which resolved many of these divisions in the Cygnaran people.

Vinter survives the Bloodstone Desert, crossing it entire, and is the first human to encounter the Skorne.

597 AR

Vinter Raelthorne IV defeats Archdominar Narkuuru of Kademe, prompting the rest of the skorne to surrender.

598 AR

Vinter proclaims himself Supreme Archdominar and founds the Skorne Empire.

603 AR

Vinter leads a skorne army back through the desert to conquer the Iron Kingdoms. He first attempts to seize the city Corvis but he and his army are repelled by an alliance of Cygnar, Mercenaries, and the teenage girl Alexia Ciannor.
In Halaak, the house lords take the opportunity of Vinter’s absence to rebel and disobey standing orders to send additional forces.
Driven from Corvis, and lacking the reinforcements he was expecting, Vinter returns to Skorne and begins the Second Unification of Skorne - to prevent future disobedience.
