Directrix reveals to Aurora that her father is Nemo, and she reunites with him as he lies on his deathbed. She takes him to a Convergence base and transfers his consciousness into a giant metal orb built by Locke, who had built it "just cause I could". With the Infernal invasion looming, Directrix is trying to complete the "Great Work" which is a portal which will bring Cyriss to Caen. Nemo decides that they need to reverse the Great Work, and send the people of Caen to Cyriss. Aurora and Nemo start a civil war to gain control of the Great Work.

Meanwhile Asphyxious realises that if all the mortals are slaughtered, then there will be no fresh meat for the Nightmare Empire, so he decides to "save" the empire of Man. Using constructs and undead against Infernal forces turns out to be effective, as the lack of fresh souls starves the Infernal armies. Asphyxious gets a big head from his success, and decides to go one-vs-one vs an Infernal Master, Omodamos. Asphyxious gets shattered into pieces. Deneghra picks up Asphxyious' phycaltry and carries it to Aurora's forces. His consciousness is transferred into a clockwork body, and he joins the civil war.

One of the Infernal Masters, Agathon, heads off to the Iosan lands. The Skorne currently invading Ios align with the elves, and they manage to capture Agathon. The Convergence's Great Work is built at Henge Hold, and Aurora's forces manage to claim it just before thousands of refugees and almost every army in Caen shows up to battle for it. There is a incredibly long battle scene, with the portal being activated and refugees fleeing through it as the Infernals try to break through the lines. Series 1 ended mid-battle with the Infernal Masters having a mental tele-conference with their bosses back in the Infernal Realm. Even though they are immortal, reforming themselves is proving costly and they are losing time to grab souls escaping through the portal. Their bosses grant them power to summon the Guardian of Souls, which is crawling out of the ground as the twitter feed ended.

The final installment was about Caine, oddly. Caine had been mentioned in several other storylines, and during livestreams the PP staff had been giving wink-wink hints about Caine's importance to the plotline. He was revealed to be traveling to the mainland onboard a Satyxis ship after being at points unknown searching for his daughter. Whether he found her, and who the mother is, is still unrevealed.

This article covers events from the start of the Infernal invasion in 613 AR to the current time. The start point of this article corresponds to the release of the Oblivion book (2019).

Oblivion Book

Since Thamar's deal in 150 BR, the Nonokrion Order gained a terrible foothold in the Iron Kingdoms and have been influencing mortals and preparing the path of their invasion (scheduled for 850 AR) ever since.

The Old Witch released the Grymkin around about 610 AR (240 years before the invasion) and the Grymkin were wildly successful and finding and killing infernalists. They killed a lot of semi-evil non-infernalists along the way, but that was just the price the Old Witch was willing to pay.

This forced the Infernals to accelerate their plans, launching The Claiming as it is known now, rather than risk losing more of their puppets and having the entire invasion fail. They began their invasion in the central city of Caspia, Orin Midwinter betraying King Julius of Cygnar to help usher in the Infernals as they move to take what they are owed - 66% of the souls of Humanity.

The Old Witch and the ancient tree Wurmwood recently met to discuss this outcome, Wurmwood chastising the Old Witch for not simply burning the cities of Man to prevent this, while the Witch reminds the tree that beings greater than the two of them do not so easily relinquish their creations. She also remarks that in their haste the Infernals will make mistakes, allowing the Iron Kingdoms to rally together. Their meeting is interrupted by the Hermit of Henge Hold, a mad Iosan Seeker who discovered the truth of the Elven Gods and has somehow entered the service of the Infernal Zaateroth, the Weaver of Shadows. Zaateroth is the highest ranking of the Infernal Masters leading the assault against the Iron Kingdoms, planning their invasion - though she is far from being the highest ranking Infernal in the Nonokrion Order, as she answers to three unfathomably powerful beings. Zaateroth had commanded the Hermit to deliver to the Old Witch and Wurmwood (via his proxy Cassius) two scrolls.

Those scrolls contained her terms and conditions for the surrender of the Iron Kingdoms.

Hengehold Scrolls - Series I

A mad Iosan prophet, the Hermit of Henge Hold is beset by visions of possible futures, many of them laced with horror and imminent destruction.

The Hermit has a Twitter account, where he shares the visions that drove him mad. Put together, the tweets tell short stories and this is how PP did fluff for a while.
