Convergence Servitor Solo

Accretion servitors are indispensable on the battlefield due to their versatile suite of semi-autonomous repair procedures. They carry a small array of mechanikal tools that enable them to provide temporary fixes to clockwork vessels and vectors in the heat of battle. These quick repairs can mean the difference between victory and defeat.

When you go to physically buy Accretion Servitorss, you get a pack with 3 models. They are added to your army in "sets" of 3 models. They are 3 separate solos (they are not a unit with 3 members).

With FA 3, you can get 9 models into your army.

Thoughts on Accretion Servitors

Accretion Servitors in a nutshell

If your army lacks units with repair skill (how is that even possible?), then these extremely cheap solos are the answer. They provide no threat to anything outside warjacks.

Combos & Synergies

  • Directrix - a really humiliating way to finish off the opposing warcaster's last HPs is to drag a backlashed warjack close with your Prime Axiom's cable, shoot up with the Elimination Servitors, then pinch the last remaining points off with your Accretion Servitors.
  • They are easy and cheap targets to AOEs from the Cipher, or the Direct Current from the Modulator. You can also lock on to them with the TEP, if you encounter targets who cannot be targeted by ranged attacks.
  • Even without the theme force benefit (you will likely take the more expensive Servitors free of charge) you get 3 shield guards with auto-repair for 2 points - great to have them around your - hopefully repairable - Warcaster.

Drawbacks & Downsides

  • No melee weapon means no free strikes (yup, not even against warjacks), and no charges.
  • With so many ways to repair and/or recreate your stuff, their presence easily becomes redundant.
  • For repairing, the Optifex Directive is better value.
  • Support bloat - you can easily spend an overly large portion of your points for support models.

Tricks & Tips

  • Under Lucant's feat 3 of these servitors repair 9 hit points; more than enough to restore any damaged vector to its operational state.
  • Even though their usefulness is marginal, they can still contest and capture / control zones and flags. They are also solos (even if bought in 3), so you can spread them around as you wish.
  • While they are steady, they will remain standing after a knockdowning feat/spell, screening small based targets from pop&drop assassinations.
  • If you happen to reach a warjack (remember, no charges), don't forget that the one point of damage goes to the column of your choice. Go for important systems on the verge of being crippled (arc node, shield generator, movement).

Rules Clarifications

RC symbol.png

Rules Clarification : Unarmed      (Edit)

  • Since this model has no weapons it does not have a melee range.
    • This means it can't engage other models, declare charges, or make free strikes
    • Also it can't gain abilities that require a melee range (such as Ragman granting this model Dark Shroud).
  • However, other models that do have melee weapons can engage this model. So this model can still gain the "target in melee" shooting bonus.

Rules Clarification : Construct - None yet. (Edit)

Rules Clarification : Pathfinder      (Edit)

Rules Clarification : Steady      (Edit)

  • If you are hit by a knockdown effect during your own turn then ... nothing happens. Unless it was a Slam or a Throw that knocked you down.
In that situation, there is a core rule that says "models immune to knockdown that become knocked down from a slam or throw must forfeit either movement or action when they activate". But that core rule doesn't apply to other knockdowns (lots of players assume it does)
  • Steady models are still susceptible to other effects of knock-down attacks (if there are any). For instance, a Head Butt attack causes damage and knockdown - a Steady model would still take the damage.
  • A knocked down model that gains Steady will remain knocked down, because the "cannot be knocked down" is not retroactively applied.
  • Steady models who make a tough check during an advance can continue advancing. (Locked Thread)

Rules Clarification : Repair      (Edit)

  • When repairing warjacks, you can choose which damage boxes to heal - they don't all have to be the same column.
  • If you get a +1 bonus to a repair roll, that is one extra hitpoint healed. Not +1 to the number of pips showing on the dice.

Rules Clarification : Strip      (Edit)

  • Strip is not an attack, so won't trigger stuff like Vengeance.
