- Man-Sized - This model is treated as a small-based model and occupies the space from the bottom of its base to a height of 1.75".
- Mobile Artillery - When this model advances as part of its Normal Movement, it gains +1" movement for each Grunt in this unit within 2" of it at the start of its advance.
- Take Up - If this model is destroyed, you can choose a Grunt in this unit within 1" of it to be destroyed instead. Effects on this model expire, and it gains the effects on the chosen Grunt. Remove the Grunt from the table instead of this model. This model has the same number of unmarked damage boxes as the chosen Grunt.

The Trencher Cannon Crew is mobile artillery that hits what it hits pretty hard.
Combos & Synergies
- Captain Victoria Haley - it loves both her Temporal Barrier and her feat
- Captain Maxwell Finn - for Veteran Leader.
- Trencher Master Gunner - For Artillerist or Battery Fire.
- A Grenadier can get the reload from the Grunts, but also from the Cannon itself, being itself a Trencher model. If Dug In, it can be placed before the cannon and won't block LoS, and it can also protect the unit from menaces that get too close. You have to position them carefully though, if you want to move them afterwards.
Drawbacks & Downsides
- It's fragile if the enemy gets in range.
- Trencher Express Teams usually do the job better, with longer range, better utility and higher mobility.
Tricks & Tips
- Keep the grunt just under 1" from the gunner. It's a waste of a medium AoE just to take them out - but if you get too close a small AoE will do it.
- Watch out for RFP abilities, that target the Gunner - in that case, there will be no Take Up by the Grunt.
- Set it up carefully. You might not get to deploy it again.
- The grunts have guns. Two more POW11s can sting against light-medium armoured targets that think they only have the main gun to evade.
